WILDLIFE FOREVER WORLD WALLEYE CHAMPIONSHIP DATE MOVED
 

Wildlife Forever announced today the rescheduling of its World Walleye
Championship from May 1-5, 2001 to October 16-20, 2001. Scheduled to be
hosted at Treasure Island Resort and Casino, Douglas H. Grann, President &
CEO of Wildlife Forever said, "Although the flood stage conditions projected
for the Mississippi River are the reason for the move, we now have an
excellent opportunity to permanently hold the event in the fall of each year
and continue to build this World Class Tournament."

The World Walleye Championship is the culmination of the recently expanded
Masters Walleye Circuit (MWC) now consisting of 7 tournaments held
throughout six midwestern states. As the oldest and largest team walleye
tournament in the country, the MWC attracts professional and amateur anglers
alike. The rescheduling of this years event will allow for the largest cash
purse ever offered at the World Walleye Championship.

MWC Tournament spokesperson Frank Pillsbury stated, " The new date, bigger
cash payout and stiffer competition will make for one of the most exciting
angling events of the year."  Director of Marketing, Pete Wuebker added,
"Angler safety is always going to be our #1 concern. The high debris load
and unpredictable water conditions dictated this move. "

Wildlife Forever is a national nonprofit multi-species conservation
organization. Its Masters Walleye Circuit division goals are to promote
healthy and abundant walleye populations on public rivers, streams and lakes
plus educate America's youth on aquatic conservation.
