Head: Muskies and walleye both hitting "big time" on the
north end of Lake
of the Woods out of Grace Anne II Luxury Yacht and Lodge (Kenora,
Ontario,
Canada).
Weather on the north end of Lake of the Woods has been extreme this
past
week, with high winds and thunderstorms accompanied by pouring rain.
Regardless of the weather, muskies are on big time out of Grace Anne
II
Luxury Yacht and Lodge. The muskies are extremely active before and
after
the low pressure systems move in. Rocky points are producing some
nice
fish. One of Grace Anne II's guests saw 10 different muskies in one
afternoon, landing two with another two hitting the bait short.
The walleye bite is also very strong. Walleye are all over from 8
feet near
weed lines to 35 feet on the humps. Leeches and minnows on light jigs
are
doing the trick, and trolling crankbaits for suspended fish have been
producing walleyes over 26 inches.
