Due to flooding conditions, on the Mississippi River, Team Walleye, Illinois, Division, moved its tournament site, on April the 22nd, from Albany, Illinois, to Spring Valley, Illinois. Trolling crank baits, upstream, from Spring Valley, the team of Joe Miller, and Rick Taylor, of Elgin, Illinois, won the tournament, with 12# 12 ounces. Placing second, from Spring Valley, was Gary Dalzot Sr, and Gary Dalzot Jr, with 11# pounds 9 ounces. Finishing third, also from Spring Valley, with 10# 14 ounces, was the team of Bruce Merkel, and Gary Merkel. Placing fourth, was Steve Skupien, and Walley Neauman, of Joliet, with 10# 4.5 ounces. They also took big fish honors, with 3# 6.5 ounces. We had 19 limits of fish, from the field of 34 teams were weighed, for a total of 134 fish, weighing a total of 218 pounds.
The next team walleye tournament, will be the 2 day state championship,
On May, 19-20, 2001, at Savannah, Illinois, assuming, the water rescinds.
