VALLEY CITY, ND, June 20th, 2008: The National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA), a non-profit organization focused on growing the sport of fishing and increasing the professionalism of its members, is proud to congratulate NPAA member and Berkley Pro Scott Steil #183 for winning the FLW Walleye Tour Event on Cass Lake in Cass Lake, MN.

This is Scott Steil’s first victory on the FLW Walleye Tour and he’s proud to win in his home state of Minnesota. Steil and his family live in Richmond, MN were he sells insurance as well as fishing professionally. His family was at the final day weigh-in to see his victory. With ever changing weather conditions, knowing how to fish the wind played an important role on Cass Lake. Predominantly rigging large minnows and using 10lb. Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon main line and 8lb. Vanish leader sealed the win for 18.01lbs. on the last day of competition. There was a no cull slot limit on Cass Lake and Steil’s first fish of the final day was over 25”. “The rest came in perfect order”, said Steil. He also said,” I changed where I fished and how I fished with different wind and weather conditions each day, and my biggest tip is knowing when to fish slow”.

Rounding out the top ten were three more NPAA top competitors, Todd Riley #19 of Amery, WI taking 7th place, Chris Gilman #60 from Chisago City, MN taking 8th and David Kolb #607 from Ada, MI rounding out 10th place. To learn more about the FLW Walleye Tour and our NPAA members go to:
