Lowrance Electronics Joins Forces with GNWC
By Steve Weisman
Gander Mountain GNWC Publicity Director Lowrance Electronics, a recognized
and respected leader in the fishing and electronics industry, announced
today its decision to join the Gander Mountain Grand National Walleye
Cup's (GNWC) national sponsorship team. In the announcement, Lowrance
Electronics and GNWC's Executive Director Bernie Barringer noted that
Lowrance Electronics will award a pair of LMS-332C sonar units at
each of the eight Regional Championships to the team that captures
the Regional Championship title. Barringer, said, "This is a tremendous
prize, and we are very happy that Lowrance Electronics has made the
commitment to be part of the GNWC's sponsorship team. This first place
prize, which is valued at $1400 retail will be in addition to the
winning team's cash purse, and is now officially called the Lowrance
Electronics 'You Win!' award." The LMS-332C is a new state-of-the-art
color sonar with a five inch screen and a high-detail 480 x 480 pixel
resolution. It can be used both as a traditional sonar/sounder unit
and as a GPS/WAAS/Mapping unit. Standard sonar features of the LMS-332C
include Advanced Signal Processing, Colorline, Advanced Fish Symbol
I.D., FishTrack, multi-zoom options, sonar alarms and backup memory.
Meanwhile, the unit has a precision 12-parallel channel GPS + WAAS
receiver, built-in background map with enhanced continental U. S.
and Hawaii detail including nav aids, along with the compatibility
of working with MapCreate, FreedomMaps(tm), plus Fishing Hot Spots(r)
and Navionics(r) electronic charts. In an effort to provide user-friendly
electronics, Lowrance offers website help at lowrance.com. At this
site, one can actually choose the unit and work with it on what is
called an Emulator. According to Barringer, Lowrance will also provide
LMS-332C units on the three WX 1880 Skeeteer boats that will be given
away at the Skeeter-Yamaha National Championship on Lake Erie October
6-8. "With the matching Yamaha outboards, Minnkota electric trolling
motors and batteries, and now the LMS-332C by Lowrance Electronics,
these fully-rigged boats retail for $35,000 each. As I noted in an
earlier release, we will award two of these to the team that wins
the National Championship," said Barringer. Meanwhile, the third Skeeter
WX1880 boat will be given away in a drawing at the National Championship.
Each and every angler that fishes in the national championship will
have a chance to win this boat. It will be given away at the tournament
in a random drawing and all contestants that meet eligibility guidelines
will have one chance to win. "We are glad that Lowrance Electronics
has joined the GNWC sponsorship team. They now join a host of outstanding
National Sponsors, including Gander Mountain, Skeeter Boats, Yamaha
Outboards, MinnKota, UpNorthOutdoors.com and AMFYOYO. We hope to add
more sponsors to this list in the upcoming weeks," added Barringer.
