The Outdoor Channel Announces Winners of Golden Moose Awards

THE OUTDOOR CHANNEL ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF GOLDEN MOOSE AWARDS FOR PROGRAMMING
AIRING IN 2000
New Orleans, LA. - Management of The Outdoor Channel, Inc. announced
winners of its’ first annual Golden Moose Awards at an awards ceremony
conjunction with the 2001 SHOT Show. The trade show is one of the largest
the nation, catering to the shooting, hunting and outdoor industries.
Ten of the thirteen awards were voted on by a special committee of Outdoor
Channel executives, and three were selected by the viewers in a special
on-air promotion. Fishing with Shelley and Courtney produced in Surrey,
British Columbia, garnered two awards for Best Freshwater Fishing and
Viewers Choice for Best Fishing Program. Gobblin’ Fever produced by
Cathy Scroggins of Cross Timbers Productions of Tuttle, Oklahoma also
two awards for Best Graphics and Best Open. Northwest Hunter, produced
Fred Woods and Rick Young of Boring, Oregon won for Best Big Game Footage.
Pennsylvania Outback, from Denny Snyder of Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Best Saltwater Award.
Outdoorsmen Adventures produced by Gary Howey of Hartington, Nebraska,
the Best Waterfowl Award. Best Turkey Footage went to Turkey Call,
production of the National Wild Turkey Federation of Edgefield, South
Carolina. The Most Informative Award went to Midwest Outdoor Magazine
produced by Gene Laulunen of Burr Ridge, Illinois. Best Camerawork
Personal Watercraft Television produced by Kevin Cullen of Water Productions
Corporation in Stroud, Ontario. Babe Winkleman’s Outdoor Secrets earned
award for best editing. The Viewers’ Choice for hunting went to Ted
Spirit of the Wild, produced by Q-1 Video of Coldwater, Michigan, with
Special Interest Viewers Choice Award going to Action Shooters,produced
Roger Zimmerman, based in Miami Shores, Florida.
Outdoor Channel Vice President Wade Sherman said, “ Over 160 producers
