Professional Walleye Trail Entry Blanks in the Mail
The in-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail (PWT),
now entering its
16th season, will conduct tournaments on new waters in Arkansas, Missouri
and Minnesota in 2004. The respected competitive anglers will
also compete
in Wisconsin, Michigan, South Dakota and in downtown Cleveland, Ohio.
The PWT is a Pro-Am fishing
tour, and amateurs who want the
ultimate fishing experience, are partnered with pro anglers, fish in
the
pro's boats and use the pro's tackle while trying every trick to catch
walleyes. Amateurs select one, two or as many as six tournaments.
By
watching and fishing exactly the same as the pro, it's like attending
a
personal walleye seminar.
Jim Kalkofen, PWT Executive
Director, located in Brainerd,
Minn., said, "Amateur partners rave about the Power Fishing and thrill
of
competition. They feel the highs of success and the lows of missing
a fish
with the net. They share everything with the pro, from emotions
to night
crawlers. They do this three days at each event with three different
pro
anglers." They are also eligible for prizes.
The 2004 PWT Schedule:
April 21-23, Optima/Gulp!
Pro-Am Artificial Challenge, Fox &
Wolf Rivers & Lakes, Winneconne, Wis.
May 12-14, Trilene/PowerBait
Pro-Am Artificial Challenge,
Lake Francis Case & Missouri River, Chamberlain, SD
June 2-4, Lund Pro-Am,
Cass Lake Chain, Cass Lake, Minn.
June 23-25, Mercury/Realtree
Pro-Am, Bull Shoals Lake, Bull
Shoals, Arkansas (fishing Arkansas and Missouri waters)
July 21-23, Lowrance/Lund
Pro-Am, Lake Erie, Cleveland,
Ohio
Aug. 26-28, Outdoor Channel
Pro-Am, Bay de Noc, Escanaba,
Mich.
Amateurs come from all experience
levels. Touring pro, past
Champion and Optima Top Gun in 2002 and 2003 Keith Kavajecz, Kaukauna,
Wis.
said, "My amateur partners work with me; I share everything in the
boat and
in my head so we catch fish. Sometimes it's trolling; often it's
rigging;
jigging is a favorite; but it's important to adapt to what the fish
want.
After a day in my boat, I want to hear, 'I learned a bunch today, thanks.'
That's my goal every day."
