Perry Good¹s Great Walleye Catch
Boosts Him to PWT Tournament Lead
Bay City, Wisconsin....Three-time In-Fisherman Professional
Walleye
Trail (PWT) pro Perry Good, Eagan, Minn., drew gasps of amazement when
the
scales settled on 34.57 pounds. Fishing with amateur Luke Stout,
Ashland,
Wis., they nailed six fish today that beat most other total weights
for the
first two days.
The Mississippi River including Lake Pepin is the
third PWT tournament
stop, with Friday, June 13, the final day of the Trilene/Mercury Central
Pro-Am. After Friday¹s weigh-in, approximately $300,000
will be paid to pro
and amateur contestants. The ceremonies begin at 3 p.m., with
pro
interviews, explanations of where and what they used, and details of
walleye
tactics that will help local and regional walleye fans catch more fish.
Festivities occur at the Village Park in Bay City, where the community
supports the PWT competitors with a tremendous volunteer crew and many
activities for the anglers and their families.
The winning pro earns $63,000 and the top amateur
takes home a brand new
17-foot Lund boat with a Mercury outboard on an Eagle trailer, valued
at
$15,500. The top 40 pros and 40 amateurs win cash and merchandise.
Holding
second is pro Bill Ortiz, Dodgeville, Wis. with 40.72 pounds.
Local pro and
2-time PWT winner Scott Fairbairn, Hager City, Wis., is third with
38.75
pounds. Stout is leading the amateur race.
The Miller High Life Big Fish on day two weighed
8.18 pounds. It came
into Good¹s boat, and is worth $1,000, which he will split with
amateur
partner Stout.
Following Bay City, the tour heads east to Lake Erie,
fishing out of
Dunkirk, NY, where some amateur openings exist. To find out more
about the
PWT, or get an entry blank, check the PWT web site,
www.professionalwalleyetrail.com. Thousands of walleye fans follow
along
and watch their computers as the weights are posted immediately as
contestants cross the stage. The Mercury Real-Time Scoreboard
is the place
to check the scores, and easy to find on the PWT site. Photos
and stories
are posted daily.
The PWT is an integral element of the In-Fisherman
