Presents The Preeminent Team Championship forWalleye Anglers!

Tournament walleye anglers across the country have a new brass ring to reach for with the formation of Cabela’s National Team Walleye Championship. Cabela’s and North American Walleye Anglers have formed a partnership with 22 walleye tournaments, circuits and clubs across the nation in an agreement that will reward successful team  walleye anglers with the opportunity to compete for added cash and prizes in a true national championship tournament. Starting with the 2001 season, winners of tournaments and/or circuits held by National Team Walleye Championship partners will secure an invitation to compete in the first championship, to be held in the spring of 2002. In all, two hundred teams will compete in the championship, all of them vying for a total cash pay out of more than $125,000, making this tournament the pinnacle of success for team walleye anglers. 

The 2002 Cabela’s National Team Walleye Championship continues Cabela’s and North American Walleye Anglers commitment to the sport of tournament walleye fishing. Creating a national championship caliber event will shine the national spotlight on both the winners and the exciting, highly competitive sport of walleye fishing. Larger purses  and more media exposure will follow in years to come as Cabela’s, North American Walleye Anglers and their partners work to build the National Team Walleye Championship into the premier venue for team walleye anglers across the country.
