The Outpost Lodge on beutiful Lake Oahe in South Dakota

It's all about Atmosphere... The Outpost, just 15 miles north of Pierre, South Dakota, is easily accessible by land or air travel. Taxi service to and from the airport is also available, or we'll be happy to meet you.  the perfect place to stay whether you are fishing or hunting Lake Oahe or Lake Sharpe 
The Outpost Lodge offers great, comfortable lodging at an affordable price
12 modern air-conditioned units, all
with their own kitchenette. 
Each unit has two double beds, linen provided, and a private bath and shower. 
Kitchenettes include a refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, counter top two burner stove with exhaust, and a sink. 
Guest reserving kitchenette - please provide your own utensils (pans and dishes). 
Light housekeeping and towel service is furnished on a daily basis.

    Fishing is great on Lake Oahe and Lake Sharpe
    Fishing usually starts in mid April right after  the ice goes out. This is prime time for trophy  northern pike.
    May is when our walleye fishing starts. This is a good time to fish for trophies. However, trophy walleyes are caught all summer and into late fall.
    Salmon fishing usually gets going in May. This  bite will go until September, then slows with the  spawn. We had a great summer of fishing last year.  Numerous walleyes in the 3 to 7 pound class and   many trophies over 8 pounds. Many salmon ran from 8 to 12 pounds with some up to 17 pounds.
