The Illinois District of Team Walleye Tournament Circuit conducted its first qualifying tournament of the 1999 season at Spring Valley . Over 38 teams participated in the event.

Bill from Ottawa, Illinois and Ron from Hudson, Illinois out fished all the other teams at the event by weighing in a five fish limit of 9 pounds and 2 ozs. They were fishing downstream of Spring Valley and caught most of their fish using a three way and floater jig tipped with a minnow. Finishing second was Mark Actis and Doug Houster with 8 pounds and 13 ozs. Third place was Doug Anoman and Jeff Tumpis with 8 pounds 12 ozs. Rounding out the top five was Jim Broglin and Ed Martin in fourth with 8 pounds .05 ozs and Dan Vinovich and Rick Parrot in fifth place with 7 pounds and 13 ozs.

Big fish honors with a tie went to Gary and Bruce Merkal and Bill Walsh and Ron Cutright with a 3 pound Sauger.

The next tournament for Team Walleye is scheduled for the Mississippi River, Albany, Illinois on November 15, 1998. If you are interested : Contact Bob Kidd at: 309-527-6328
